It’s entirely possible that the Gillette ad is a cynical ploy to sail with the tide. After all, the folks who make Dove Soap were making all those great ads about women loving their bodies of various shapes, while the same company was churning out terrible, sexist, objectifying ads for their terrible men’s cologne under the brand name Axe.
But for the moment, I’ll take it for what it is. I hope it’s a sign of a sea change; it really was nicely done.
